Self-hosted alternatives to Bitly

Bitly is a link management service that shortens URLs, creates QR codes and reports clicks. Two listed apps do its main job and run in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Bitly describes on its own site.

What it adds
Bundles add up the clicks of a campaign's links, one link can answer on several slugs, and an MCP server lets AI assistants create and query links.
  • Yes Shorten long links. Random slugs from three characters, with idempotent creation.
  • Partly Custom domains and custom back-halves. Custom slugs and several slugs per link; served from the one domain the Worker is attached to.
  • Yes QR codes for links. SVG QR codes with scans counted apart from clicks.
  • Yes Click analytics by location, referrer and device. Country, referrer, device type, OS and browser.
  • Partly UTM campaign tracking. UTM parameters are stored on each click but not yet reported.
  • No Bulk link creation. Link import and export are listed as not yet available.
  • Yes API for creating and managing links. REST API with OpenAPI spec, TypeScript, Python and Dart SDKs and an MCP server.
  • No Link-in-bio pages. Not in the README.
