Self-hosted alternatives to Blynk

Blynk is a hosted IoT platform for connecting hardware to the cloud, with web and mobile dashboards, device control and automations. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Blynk describes on its own site.

Self-hosted IoT platform for device telemetry, realtime dashboards and automations in your own Cloudflare account

What a Blynk user would miss
Native mobile apps, an MQTT endpoint, per-device provisioning and built-in over-the-air firmware updates.
What it adds
MIT licensed single-tenant deployment where devices, dashboards and telemetry live in the owner's Cloudflare account, with a read API, embeddable Web Component widgets and an MCP server that is off by default; the app also sends anonymous usage stats to telemetry.nodrix.live.
  • Partly Connect hardware to the cloud. Devices post JSON over HTTPS or open a WebSocket, and an Arduino library covers ESP32 and ESP8266; no MQTT broker.
  • Yes Web dashboards with widgets. Drag-and-drop dashboards with value, gauge, chart, map, toggle, slider, color, percent and push widgets, shareable read-only by public link.
  • Partly Native iOS and Android apps. The admin panel is a responsive web app that can be installed as a PWA; no native iOS or Android app.
  • Yes Remote control of devices. Toggles, sliders, color pickers and buttons write values back to devices by short polling or a control socket.
  • Yes Real-time and historical data. Widgets update live over WebSockets, a chart widget and a read API return time series, and older telemetry is kept in R2.
  • Yes Events and notifications. Automation actions send email, Slack, Telegram, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, Twilio SMS and WhatsApp, and webhook messages.
  • Yes Automations. Visual automations fire on variable changes, schedules, sunrise or sunset and events.
  • No Device provisioning and over-the-air firmware updates. Project tokens rather than per-device provisioning, and no built-in firmware updates.
