Self-hosted alternatives to Mentimeter

Mentimeter is a hosted interactive presentation tool where the audience answers polls, quizzes, word clouds and questions from their phones. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Mentimeter describes on its own site.

What a Mentimeter user would miss
It does not build presentations, and it has no quizzes, word clouds, surveys or integrations.
What it adds
Apache-2.0 and runs in your own Cloudflare account; it works beside any PDF, Google Slides or Canva deck without an add-in, and people join without an app or account.
  • No Interactive presentation editor with templates. It adds a response panel beside an existing deck and does not edit slides.
  • Partly Live polls. Up to eight polls per event, each multiple choice with two to six options.
  • No Quizzes with leaderboards. Not available.
  • No Live word clouds. Not available.
  • Yes Audience Q&A. Questions with support from other participants, a moderation link, audience reports, slow mode and a delay before questions reach the screen.
  • No Surveys and recurring check-ins. Not available; a five-step difficulty rating shows whether the room is keeping up.
  • No Integrations with PowerPoint and Teams. No add-ins; decks are shown from a PDF or a link.
