Self-hosted alternatives to n8n Cloud

N8n Cloud is the hosted version of the n8n workflow automation platform, with a visual builder, 500 or more integrations and code nodes. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features n8n Cloud describes on its own site.

  • AwaitStep canvas with a 12-node workflow using try/catch, a forEach loop and parallel branches

Drag-and-drop builder that generates TypeScript for Cloudflare Workflows and deploys it to your account

What a n8n Cloud user would miss
An n8n user would miss schedule and service-event triggers and the much larger integration catalog.
What it adds
It is Apache-2.0 and generates ordinary TypeScript for Cloudflare Workflows that you can eject, with versioned deploys with locking and rollback, a REST API with scoped keys and a marketplace for custom nodes.
  • Yes Visual workflow builder. A drag-and-drop canvas with 12 built-in nodes and installable marketplace nodes.
  • Partly 500 or more integrations. About 45 marketplace nodes for services such as Slack, Stripe, Notion and Google Sheets, plus an HTTP Request node.
  • No Trigger nodes that start workflows from service events, plus scheduling. Runs start from the UI, the REST API or an HTTP request to the deployed Worker; the docs suggest an external cron service for scheduled runs.
  • Partly AI agent development with swappable models, RAG and MCP. OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Perplexity nodes and an AI Agent Loop template; no multi-agent or RAG tooling.
  • Partly JavaScript or Python code inside workflows. Step nodes run TypeScript; no Python.
  • Yes Self-hosting. Cloudflare Workers, Docker Compose, a VPS or platform guides for Coolify, Railway, Render and DigitalOcean.
  • Yes Human-in-the-loop approvals. A Wait for Event node and a Human Approval template.
  • Partly Execution inspection with replay and single-step re-runs. Run status and errors with pause, resume and terminate controls; no replay or single-step re-run found.
