Self-hosted alternatives to Pushover

Pushover is a hosted notification service that delivers messages sent through its HTTP API to Android, iPhone, iPad and desktop apps. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Pushover describes on its own site.

Self-hosted Web Push for iPhone, iPad and Mac Safari, triggered by one authenticated POST from scripts, cron or CI

What a Pushover user would miss
Devices must be an iPhone or iPad on iOS 18.4 or later or a Mac with Safari 18.5 or later, there is no Android support, and messages have no priority levels, sounds, attachments or device and group targeting.
What it adds
It needs only one Worker and a KV namespace, the push service relays encrypted payloads it cannot read, and a Claude Code plugin lets a coding agent send notifications.
