Self-hosted alternatives to Wix eCommerce

Wix eCommerce is the online store product of the Wix website builder, with customizable storefronts, payments and order management. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Wix eCommerce describes on its own site.

Small server-rendered store with an admin, Stripe and Lightning checkout, and APIs that let AI agents shop

Who it suits
Makers and small sellers who use Wix only to sell a few physical or digital products with card checkout and are comfortable editing a code-based storefront theme.
What a Wix eCommerce user would miss
A Wix user would miss the visual editor and templates, subscriptions, dropshipping and print on demand, selling on marketplaces and social channels, email marketing and payment methods beyond Stripe and Lightning.
What it adds
It takes Bitcoin over Lightning next to Stripe cards, renders pages on the server so cart and search work with JavaScript turned off, and exposes a JSON API and an optional MCP server so AI agents can browse and buy.
  • No Customizable storefront templates with a visual editor. Storefront templates are source files built at deploy time with no visual editor; only Markdown pages have an editor in the admin.
  • Partly Physical, digital and subscription products. Physical products and digital downloads of up to 25 MB; no subscriptions found.
  • Partly Product variants and catalog import. Variants with their own price, stock and SKU and checkbox extras; no product CSV import found.
  • No Dropshipping and print on demand. No dropshipping or print-on-demand code found.
  • No Selling across channels. One storefront, plus a JSON API and an optional MCP server; no marketplace, social or point-of-sale channels.
  • Partly Payment gateways. Stripe Checkout cards and Bitcoin over Lightning; no PayPal or other gateways.
  • Partly Orders, inventory and shipping labels. Orders, fulfillment and stock tracking; optional Shippo labels for domestic orders only.
  • Partly SEO tools and email marketing. Sitemap, robots.txt, canonical links and product structured data; order confirmation emails only, no marketing campaigns.
