Self-hosted alternatives to Bitwarden

Bitwarden is an open source password manager that stores logins and other sensitive items in an end-to-end encrypted vault with browser extensions and apps. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Bitwarden describes on its own site.

What a Bitwarden user would miss
Organizations, collections and shared vaults, SSO and SCIM, and email flows such as invitations and password hints.
What it adds

  • Yes Password and username generator. Password generator page in the web vault.
  • Yes Sync across browser, desktop, mobile and web. Real-time push sync to all devices; Windows and Linux desktop tested, macOS desktop not fully verified.
