Self-hosted alternatives to Freshdesk

Freshdesk is Freshworks' hosted customer support software with ticketing, a self-service portal and knowledge base, automations, SLA management and AI assistance. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Freshdesk describes on its own site.

Email helpdesk for support teams of one to fifteen people who have outgrown group email

What a Freshdesk user would miss
Chat and phone channels, a customer portal for submitting tickets, round-robin and skill-based assignment, community forums and custom dashboards. ResolveHQ is built for teams of one to fifteen and is source-available, not open source.
What it adds
Tickets and attachments are stored in your own Cloudflare D1 database and R2 bucket. The ResolveHQ homepage states there is no per-seat price, and Cloudflare plan limits and charges apply to the account. It also has a read-only MCP server and signed webhooks.
  • Yes Shared inbox and ticketing with internal notes. Shared inbox with assignment, status, priority, tags, internal notes and search.
  • Partly Tickets from email, chat and phone. Email only, received through Email Routing.
  • No Customer portal for submitting tickets. Customers write by email; the public help center lists articles and has no ticket form.
  • Yes Knowledge base for self-service. Public help center from published articles in categories; no translations or approval workflow found.
  • Partly Automations and ticket assignment rules. Rules set priority, status, one named assignee or a tag on new tickets and inbound mail; no round-robin, load-based or skill-based assignment.
  • Partly SLA policies with business hours. First-reply and resolution targets per priority with one weekly schedule and holidays; no separate policies per customer or product.
  • Partly Reports, dashboards and customer satisfaction scores. Reports with CSV export, a dashboard and satisfaction ratings from links in resolution emails; no custom dashboards found.
  • Partly AI agent and copilot. Opt-in summaries, reply drafts, classification and translation; no AI agent that answers customers.
