Self-hosted alternatives to LiveAgent

LiveAgent is a help desk that combines ticketing with live chat, a call center, social media channels and an AI chatbot. One listed app does its main job and runs in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features LiveAgent describes on its own site.

Email helpdesk for support teams of one to fifteen people who have outgrown group email

Who it suits
Small support teams that use LiveAgent mainly for email tickets and a knowledge base and do not use live chat, phone or social channels.
What a LiveAgent user would miss
Live chat, a call center, social and messaging channels, a chatbot that answers customers and time-based automations, and the license allows personal or internal business use only.
What it adds
Tickets and attachments stay in your own Cloudflare D1 database and R2 bucket, and it adds a read-only MCP server for AI assistants, signed webhooks, scoped API keys and a workspace export to your own R2 bucket.
  • Partly Ticketing with a universal inbox. Email tickets in a shared three-pane inbox with assignment, status, priority, tags and full-text search; email is the only channel.
  • No Live chat. No chat widget or live chat code found.
  • No Call center with IVR. No telephony or voice code found.
  • No Social media and messaging channels. No social or messaging channel code found.
  • Yes Knowledge base for self-service. Knowledge-base articles in categories published to a public help center, drafts stay private.
  • Partly Automation rules, canned messages and SLAs. Rules on subject, priority, status, customer email or inbox set priority, status, one assignee or a tag; saved replies; first-reply and resolution targets with working hours and holidays; no time-based rules.
  • Partly AI chatbot and reply assistance. Opt-in summaries, reply drafts, classification and translation; no chatbot that answers customers.
  • Partly Reports and customer ratings. Reports on volume and response times with CSV export, and rating links added to resolution emails.
