Self-hosted alternatives to Uptime.com

Uptime.com is a hosted website monitoring service with many check types, a global monitoring network and public and private status pages. Two listed apps do its main job and run in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Uptime.com describes on its own site.

What a Uptime.com user would miss
It has no multi-location checks, and covers ping/UDP checks, transaction monitoring, phone/SMS/email alerts and private status pages only in part.
What it adds
It also has owner login that needs a password plus an authenticator code and data that stays in your Cloudflare account.
  • Yes HTTP(S) and API website monitoring. HTTP(S) checks with a status range, optional keyword or JSON field; response time recorded.
  • Partly Ping, TCP, UDP and DNS checks. TCP port and DNS record checks; no ICMP ping.
  • Yes SSL certificate and domain (WHOIS) monitoring. TLS certificate expiry and domain registration expiry checks.
  • Yes Heartbeat (cron job) monitoring. Heartbeat monitors with a unique /ping URL and a grace window.
  • Partly Transaction monitoring of multi-step flows. Script monitors chain up to 10 HTTP requests with captured values and assertions; no real browser.
  • No Checks from 80+ global locations. Checks run from the Worker with no location choice.
  • Partly Alerts by phone, SMS, email, Slack, Teams, Telegram and webhooks. Telegram and Web Push only; email, Slack and Discord are on the roadmap.
  • Partly Public and private status pages. Public page only.

What a Uptime.com user would miss
It has no certificate/domain checks, heartbeat monitoring and transaction monitoring, and covers ping/UDP checks, multi-location checks and phone/SMS/email alerts only in part.
What it adds
It also has a monitor status that can be embedded in another page and data that stays in your Cloudflare account.
  • Yes HTTP(S) and API website monitoring. HTTP(S) checks with custom method, headers, body and expected status codes.
  • Partly Ping, TCP, UDP and DNS checks. TCP port checks; no ICMP ping or DNS checks.
  • No SSL certificate and domain (WHOIS) monitoring. No certificate or domain expiry checks.
  • No Heartbeat (cron job) monitoring. No heartbeat monitor type.
  • No Transaction monitoring of multi-step flows. Each monitor sends a single request.
  • Partly Checks from 80+ global locations. A monitor can run from one chosen region through a check proxy that you set up.
  • Partly Alerts by phone, SMS, email, Slack, Teams, Telegram and webhooks. Webhook alerts with a grace period; no built-in email or SMS.
  • Yes Public and private status pages. Public page with an optional password for a private page.
