FeedLog
Self-hosted Canny alternative with voting boards, a public roadmap, changelogs and an in-app support widget
FeedLog feedback board with boards sidebar, vote counts and status labels on recent requests
Users vote on ideas, the team moves them onto a drag-and-drop roadmap, and shipped features become changelog entries. On Cloudflare, FeedLog runs as a Nuxt Worker that reaches your own PostgreSQL database through Hyperdrive and stores uploads in R2.
Each board post collects votes and Markdown comments and moves through status workflows. The roadmap groups posts into planned, in-progress and completed columns. Voting subscribes a user to the post: after a status change the team can choose to email upvoters, and official replies reach subscribers too. Boards can be public or private. Sign-in through better-auth supports email and password, Google OAuth and GitHub OAuth. The support side covers a help center with collections and articles, an embeddable feedback widget with JWT single sign-on and an inbox for widget conversations with human handoff. The Widget Agent answers customer questions from help center articles and can match the conversation to existing feedback or open a new post. FeedLog also compares new posts against existing ones using vector embeddings to surface duplicates, and drafts changelog entries in four style presets. The Cloudflare build uses Nuxt 4 with Nitro's Workers preset. Its wrangler.toml binds Hyperdrive, an R2 bucket for uploads, a Queue for inbox jobs and a daily Cron Trigger, with Smart Placement turned on. The same codebase also deploys to Vercel or runs from a multi-arch Docker image. The Deploy to Cloudflare button forks the repository, walks you through creating the Hyperdrive config from a Postgres connection string and the R2 bucket, and asks for BETTER_AUTH_SECRET and SYSTEM_ADMIN_EMAILS. On the first request the Worker serves a /setup page that runs migrations, after which you sign up with an address listed in SYSTEM_ADMIN_EMAILS. FeedLog's Cloudflare guide recommends the manual Wrangler setup for production.
Built for: Software teams, indie founders and product managers who want a self-hosted feedback board, roadmap and changelog in place of Canny or Featurebase.
An alternative to: Beamer, Canny, Featurebase, FeatureOS, Frill, Nolt, Sleekplan, Upvoty
What you can use it for
- Run a public voting board for SaaS feature requests
- Build a public roadmap from triaged user requests
- Publish changelog entries drafted with AI
- Embed a feedback and support widget backed by help center articles
- Find and merge duplicate feature requests

Enable the vector extension in Postgres, then paste the Hyperdrive id into wrangler.toml and set BETTER_AUTH_URL there before building.
pnpm install pnpm dlx wrangler hyperdrive create feedlog --connection-string="postgresql://USER:PASSWORD@HOST:5432/DATABASE" pnpm dlx wrangler r2 bucket create feedlog pnpm dlx wrangler secret put BETTER_AUTH_SECRET pnpm dlx wrangler secret put SYSTEM_ADMIN_EMAILS pnpm build:cf pnpm deploy:cf
Create the Postgres database and enable pgvector first. The button then sets up Hyperdrive and R2 and asks for two secrets, and OAuth, AI and email keys can be added later.
What it needs to run
- HyperdrivePOSTGRES
- R2 bucketsfeedlog
Also uses
- GitHub OAuth (optional): Lets users sign in with GitHub
- Google OAuth (optional): Lets users sign in with Google
- Neon (optional): Hosts the required Postgres database with pgvectorSource
- OpenAI API (optional): Powers duplicate detection, changelog drafting and the Widget Agent through any OpenAI-compatible endpointSource
- Resend (optional): Sends notification and password-reset emails
- Supabase (optional): Hosts the required Postgres database with pgvectorSource
Good to know
FeedLog requires an external PostgreSQL 17+ database with the pgvector extension, which Cloudflare does not host. Duplicate detection, changelog drafting and the Widget Agent need an OpenAI-compatible API key. Without RESEND_API_KEY, notification and password-reset emails are only logged. After upgrades that add migrations, an admin has to visit /setup. The project is open core, with future enterprise add-ons planned outside this repository.
Cost on Cloudflare
Depends on usage
FeedLog's Cloudflare guide says the free tier works for early usage. Workers Free includes Hyperdrive with 100,000 database queries per day and Queues with 10,000 operations per day. The Postgres host and any AI or email provider bill separately.
The estimate is based on Cloudflare’s documented limits and the app’s configuration. What you pay depends on your usage and plan.
