Self-hosted alternatives to Plausible Analytics

Plausible Analytics is a hosted, cookie-free web analytics service with a single-page dashboard; its code is open source and can also be self-hosted. Four listed apps do its main job and run in your own Cloudflare account.

Each answer comes from the app’s README and source code, compared with the features Plausible Analytics describes on its own site.

What it adds
It also has session and visitor journeys, return visit reports, web performance metrics, bot request observation and scheduled email notifications through Resend.

Cookie-free website analytics with live visitors and history in R2, installed into your account by a web wizard

What a Plausible Analytics user would miss
The README says it runs on a Workers Paid plan and relies on Cloudflare Pipelines, R2 Data Catalog and R2 SQL, which it describes as open beta.
What it adds
It accepts requests from the Plausible tracker script and Events API when the script's data-api points at it, and it reports bot and AI agent traffic separately.
  • Yes One-page dashboard with visitors, pageviews, bounce rate and visit duration. Visitors, pageviews, bounce rate and average visit duration with previous-period comparison.
  • Yes Cookie-free, lightweight script with no consent banner. No cookies; one t.js script tag.
  • Yes Traffic sources, referrers and UTM campaigns. Referrers and UTM source, medium and campaign.
  • Yes Goals and custom events. Goals as conversion scorecards and custom events with properties.
  • Yes Funnels. Funnels showing sessions lost at each step.
  • Yes Real-time view. Live visitors, pages, referrers and a city-level map over a WebSocket.
  • Yes Multiple sites with shareable dashboards. Many sites per workspace with members, and public dashboards at /share/<site id>.
  • Yes Stats API. Personal API tokens with read or manage scope authorize REST calls.

Cookie-free web analytics for your own sites, built on one Worker and one D1 database sized for the free tier

What a Plausible Analytics user would miss
It has no funnels, no goal setup, no public share links and no API keys.
What it adds
Daily rollups are never deleted, so history is unlimited, and a visitor hashes differently on each site.
  • Yes One-page dashboard with visitors, pageviews, bounce rate and visit duration. Visitors, pageviews, views per visit, bounce rate and average time with previous-period comparison.
  • Yes Cookie-free, lightweight script with no consent banner. No cookies and no persistent visitor identifier; script of about 2.1 KB.
  • Yes Traffic sources, referrers and UTM campaigns. Referrer and UTM breakdowns.
  • Partly Goals and custom events. Named custom events through edgemetry('name') and an Events tab; no properties or goal setup.
  • No Funnels. No funnel feature in the source.
  • Yes Real-time view. Live counter, last 30 minutes by minute and a feed of current pages.
  • Partly Multiple sites with shareable dashboards. Many sites and viewer accounts limited to chosen sites; no public share links.
  • Partly Stats API. JSON endpoints for summary, timeseries, breakdown and realtime, but they need a dashboard login and there are no API keys.

Cookie-free web analytics you host in your own Cloudflare account, with tracker and dashboard in one Worker

What a Plausible Analytics user would miss
It has no goals, custom events, funnels, visit duration or stats API.
What it adds
It copies daily rollups to R2 so history outlasts the 90 days that Analytics Engine keeps, and it can record pageviews from server code.
  • Partly One-page dashboard with visitors, pageviews, bounce rate and visit duration. Pageviews, visitors and bounce rate with click-to-filter; no visit duration.
  • Yes Cookie-free, lightweight script with no consent banner. No cookies or fingerprinting; one tracker.js script.
  • Yes Traffic sources, referrers and UTM campaigns. Referrer table plus UTM source, medium, campaign, term and content tables.
  • No Goals and custom events. The tracker records pageviews only.
  • No Funnels. No funnel feature in the source.
  • Partly Real-time view. Today and last 24 hour views by hour; no live visitor count.
  • Partly Multiple sites with shareable dashboards. Many sites per deployment by site ID; optional dashboard password and no per-site share links.
  • No Stats API. No public API in the source.
