VibeSDK

Self-hostable AI app builder from Cloudflare: describe an app and an agent plans, builds, previews and repairs it

VibeSDK home on build.cloudflare.dev with the build prompt box and a grid of community-built apps

VibeSDK is the open-source code behind Cloudflare's hosted builder at build.cloudflare.dev, and you can run your own instance. Its coding agent asks clarifying questions when a request is vague. Each generated app runs its preview as a Dynamic Worker.

Each preview is bundled with @cloudflare/worker-bundler and loaded through the Worker Loader binding, so no long-running development server is needed. Users follow the generated files and edits in an integrated code editor while the agent works. Generated projects can be exported to continue development elsewhere, and restore points can be stored in Cloudflare Artifacts when ENABLE_ARTIFACTS is set. The agent itself runs on Cloudflare Think inside a Durable Object. Its tools are limited to workspace and product actions, and bash access is disabled. Another Durable Object holds each project's files, and every generated app gets isolated SQLite storage through a Durable Object Facet that users can inspect and reset. Model calls go through AI Gateway to the providers you configure. The rest of the wrangler configuration binds D1, KV, R2, Workers AI, Browser Run, static assets and a Workers for Platforms dispatch namespace. Feature toggles are set in the Cloudflare dashboard rather than in wrangler.jsonc. They include email sign-in, a single allowed email address and AI Gateway connect, which runs generations on the signed-in user's own credits. The Deploy to Cloudflare button runs the project's deploy script, which builds the app, applies D1 migrations and deploys. The script stops if the CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKEN build variable is missing. For a local or manual setup, bun run setup collects credentials, creates resources and writes the environment files.

Built for: Developers and platform teams that want to run their own AI app builder on Cloudflare rather than use a hosted one.

What you can use it for

  • Run a private AI app builder for an internal team
  • Prototype full-stack Workers apps with live previews and restore points
  • Offer app generation to your own users under your domain
  • Study a reference architecture for agent-driven code generation on Cloudflare

Deploy

  • One-click · main path

    Branch main, requires Workers Paid

  • CLI

    Branch main, requires Workers Paid

    bun install
    bun run setup
    bun run deploy

Setup needs a Cloudflare API token with a long permission list, a key for at least one model provider unless keys are stored in AI Gateway, and a custom domain with wildcard DNS for production previews.

What it needs to run

  • Workers AIAI
  • Browser RunBROWSER
  • D1 databasesvibesdk-db
  • Durable ObjectsCodeGeneratorAgent, DORateLimitStore, SpaceDO, UserAppSandboxService, ThinkAgent, UserSecretsStore
  • KV namespacesVibecoderStore
  • R2 bucketsvibesdk-templates

Also uses

  • Anthropic API (optional): One of the model providers the coding agent can call
  • GitHub OAuth (optional): Lets users sign in with GitHub
  • Google OAuth (optional): Lets users sign in with Google
  • OpenAI API (optional): One of the model providers the coding agent can callSource
  • Sentry (optional): Error monitoring for the app and the WorkerSource

Good to know

Production previews on first-level subdomains need Advanced Certificate Manager. The wrangler config still declares a sandbox container that the docs call legacy tooling.

Cost on Cloudflare

Paid Cloudflare plan required

The VibeSDK setup guide lists Workers Paid for remote Cloudflare resources and a Workers for Platforms subscription ($25 per month) for app deployment features. Dynamic Workers, Containers and Artifacts are available only on Workers Paid. Model usage is billed by the chosen provider, or by Workers AI beyond 10,000 Neurons per day.

Source

The estimate is based on Cloudflare’s documented limits and the app’s configuration. What you pay depends on your usage and plan.
